Two ATM are available ( and working most of the time) in Bung Khla.

 

By car

From Nong Khai, take the highway 212 going east for around 190 km. The turning for Phu Wua and Kham Pia is well signposted, it is on the right close to the km 179 milestone after Bung Khla. Kham Pia Village is about 3km from the junction.

Drive through the village until you reach the primary school on the otherside of the village. The road bends to the left and then right around the school. The homestay is down the first drive on the left after the second bend, through a fruit orchard. If you need help just ask for Khun Bunloed's homestay. 

 

To get to the Phu Wua headquarters, go straight through the village and follow the road for another 3 km. 

 

From Nakhon Panom, take the highway 212 going west for around 120 km. Turn left at the sign Kham Pia and Phu Wua Wildlife Reserve.

 

By Public Transport

 

Bus SAWADEE ESAN TOUR VIP

From Bangkok (Mochit North bus Station) to Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Khan and Bung Khla. 

One bus is leaving daily Bangkok at 19.45 and arrives around 8am in Bung Khla.

One bus is leaving Bung Khla daily to Bangkok at 17.15.

The cost is around 580 b and the bus is very confortable and not too cold...Sometimes a meal is given on board. One 20 min stop in Khon Kaen.

 

Minivan 224 - The mini-vans are going from Udon Thani to Ban Peng. We are located 50 km before Ban Peng. 

Some will charge you for an extra seat if you have big bags or luggages.

If you come from Udon Thani or Nong Khai, you will maybe have to change minivan in Bueng Kan. You, then, take another 224 minivan going from Bueng Kan to Ban Peng and ask the driver to stop at Ban Don Chik.

The bus station in Udon Thani is at Central Plaza

 

If you are coming from Nong Khai, the minivan will stop at the bus station only if you booked your ticket at the little food shop right next to the toilet ( on the right when you are standing in front on the toilets).

Bus 224 going from Udon Thani, to Nong Khai, to Bueng Khan and to Nakhon Panom.

Be caferul in Udon Thani, there are several bus terminals and we are never sure where the 224 is leaving from. Apparently it is now leaving from the minibus terminal. That bus is supposed to leave once a day but that seems a bit unsure

Ask the driver to stop at Ban Don Chik ( 1 km after Bung Khla if you come from Udon Thani and 40 km after Ban Peng if you come from Nakhon Panom). From Udon Thani, the cost is about 220b, from Nakhom Panom 120b.

 

Bus 407  pattana VIP

From Bangkok,  (Mochit north bus station), Korat, Khon kaen, Udon Thani, Nong khai, Bueng khan and Bung Khla. There is one day-bus and one night-bus leaving daily from Bankgok to Bung Khla (around 8 am and 7 pm) and one day bus and one night bus daily from Bung Khla to Bangkok (around 6 am and 5.30 pm).  

The cost of the ticket Bangkok-Bung Khla is around 550b. The bus is ok but less confortable than Sawadee Esan mentionned above.

 

After the bus

We can come and pick you up at the 224 bus and minivan stop in Ban Don Chick. Call us when you arrive or ask someone to call. You can also walk the 3 last km to Kham Pia - direction Phu Wua Wildlife Reserve, someone will surely offer to take you to the homestay. If you are asked for money, the normal price is 50b.

If you want to hitch-hike, start doing so on the road to Kham Pia, not from the highway.

 

We can come and pick you up in Bung Khla if you arrive with the Sawadee Esan or 407 bus if you tell us in advance. Otherwise take a tuktuk to Kham Pia, around 150 b for 7 km.

I want the 407 Pattana company bus to Bung Khla (use at the north bus station in Bangkok) –ฉันจะไปบลุ่งคล้ากับรถ พัฒนา  407  

I want the 224 bus to Bung Khla (use at the bus station in Udon Tani, Nongkhai or Nakhon Panom) – ฉันต้องการรถ 224 ไปบุ่งคล้า 

Take me to the Ban Kham Pia homestay (use for the tuk tuk in Bung Khla ) -  พาฉันไปหมู่บ้านขามเปี้ย โฮมสเตย์ 

 

The first column is for the 224 minivans from Udon Thani to Bung Khla. Our stop is Ban Don Chik, 1 km after Bung Khla. Count 45 min between Udon Thani to Nong Khai. For example, the first departure at 5.30am will arrive in Ning Khai around 6.15 and then at 9am in Bung Khla.

The second column gives the departure from Bung Khla to Udon Thani.

The third column is for departures from Bung Khla to Ban Peng ( in the direction of Nakhon Panom)

 

The rate Udon Thani - Bung Khla is 230 baths.
